Nearly 70 past presidents of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (and its predecessors) and foundation were recognized at an annual reception Wednesday night.
Formed in March 2008 by the consolidation of the Cleveland Bar and Cuyahoga County Bar associations, the nonprofit CMBA serves as a center for legal professionalism in the region and promoting the highest ethical and professionalism standards.
The evening event concluded a day of leadership and bar training for association and foundation officers, boards of trustees, and section and committee officers. The training included sessions focused on non-profit leadership and media relations.
All four candidates in contested races for the Supreme Court of Ohio attended and spoke at the event: Chief Justice Eric Brown, Justice Maureen O’Connor, Justice Judith Ann Lanzinger and 11th District Appeals Court Judge Mary Jane Trapp. Additionally, presiding and administrative judges from northeast Ohio courts also attended.
